Where We Are Taking This
Short and specific, because a list of aspirations nobody revisits is worse than nothing.
Make the case for repair earlier

Too many structures get replaced because nobody priced the repair properly, or because the assessment happened after the decision was already made. The single biggest environmental contribution we can make is getting in front of asset owners before that decision, with a condition assessment and a real number. That is a commercial goal and an environmental one at the same time.

Lower carbon materials and longer lasting systems
Repair mortars, coatings and protection systems are improving, and the best ones last longer so the whole cycle repeats less often. We keep our accreditations current with the major manufacturers partly so we retain access to those products, and we would rather specify a system that lasts twenty years than one that is cheaper today.
Train more remediation applicators
There are not enough people in Australia who can do this work properly. Every applicator we train and keep is one the industry did not have, so we will keep bringing people in from elsewhere in construction and paying for their training.

Measure before we publish
We are not going to put a carbon saving figure on this page until we can calculate it from real projects rather than estimate it.

When we can show material and emissions avoided across a year of work, that will be worth reading. Until then, this page says what we are doing and not what we would like you to assume.
