Perfect Remediation installs carbon fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) strengthening on concrete structures across Australia. Beams, slabs, columns and walls brought back to capacity, or upgraded for new loads, without demolition and rebuild. Installed to engineer design and Australian Standards.
- ✓FRP laminates and fabrics installed by trained crews
- ✓Strengthen for new openings, extra load or lost capacity
- ✓A fraction of the cost and downtime of structural rebuild
- ✓Works on live sites: hospitals, car parks, plants, bridges
- ✓Combined with concrete repair and cathodic protection in house
How carbon fibre strengthening works
Carbon fibre reinforced polymer is thousands of carbon filaments set in an epoxy matrix. It is stronger than steel in tension at a fraction of the weight and thickness. Bonded to concrete with structural adhesives, it acts as external reinforcement: laminate strips glued to the tension face of beams and slabs, or woven fabrics wrapped around columns for confinement and shear capacity.
The sequence matters more than the material. We grind and prepare the substrate to sound concrete, repair any spalling or corrosion damage first, prime, then install the FRP to the engineer’s layout with controlled adhesive mixing, rolling out every air void. Pull-off tests verify the bond, and you receive test results and installation records at handover.
Cure time is hours, not weeks. Most installations run overnight or across a weekend, and the structure stays in service throughout.
When it is the right answer
New penetrations cut through existing slabs. Floor loads increasing with a change of use. Corrosion-damaged beams needing capacity back. Bridges upgraded for modern axle loads. If the structure must stay in service and the engineer wants capacity added at millimetres of thickness, FRP wins.
It is not always the answer. Badly corroded reinforcement or weak concrete must be repaired first, which is exactly why a remediation contractor should install it. We repair the substrate and strengthen it as one scope, one crew, one warranty.
Where we install it
Commercial buildings during refurbishment, car park slabs and beams, industrial plants that cannot stop production, bridges and culverts, wharves and marine structures. Bring us an engineer’s FRP specification to price, or bring us the problem and we will work with structural engineers who design FRP solutions daily.

Carbon fibre is rarely installed on its own. Badly corroded reinforcement has to be dealt with first, which is covered on our concrete remediation contractors page. For load upgrades on road and rail structures, see bridge refurbishment.
