How a bridge refurbishment runs

It starts with the inspection report: delamination mapping, chloride sampling and cover surveys tell us how far the corrosion has travelled. From that we price a defined repair schedule, not a guess.

On site the sequence is break-out, treatment, reinstatement, protection. Contaminated concrete is broken out past the reinforcement, the steel is cleaned and treated or replaced, section is reinstated with engineered repair mortars, and the structure is protected with coatings, joints that actually shed water, and cathodic protection where the chlorides demand it. Where load capacity needs to rise, carbon fibre strengthening goes on last.

Every repair is logged, photographed and signed against the ITP as work proceeds, so your asset engineer gets a handover pack that stands up in the maintenance system.

Built for the conditions bridge work brings

Lane closures and night possessions. Working over water and rail. Rope access under soffits instead of scaffold towers. Environmental controls above waterways. Our crews carry the tickets, and our methodology packs are written for road authority approval so the paperwork does not stall the programme.

Why one contractor matters on bridges

A typical bridge scope touches concrete, steel, coatings, strengthening and electrochemical protection. We hold all of them in house: one methodology, one point of responsibility, no subcontractor chain arguing about whose defect it is.
