Industrial Building Refurbishment
Warehouses, factories, aircraft hangars and plant rooms brought back to standard, structure and floors and coatings, usually while the facility keeps operating around us.
- ✓Warehouse and distribution centre refurbishment
- ✓Aircraft hangar and large span structures
- ✓Factory and processing facility upgrades
- ✓Plant room and base build works
- ✓Structural steel repair, floors, coatings and finishes
Refurbishment beats rebuild more often than people expect
Industrial buildings are usually far from finished when they start to look tired. The structure has decades left, the slab is serviceable, and what has actually failed is the coating, the floor surface, some corroded steel and a fit out designed for a different operation.
Replacing that building costs many times what refurbishing it does, and takes the facility out of service for a year. So the useful question is rarely repair or replace. It is what has to be renewed, what can be left, and how the work is staged so the operation keeps running.
What a refurbishment usually includes
- Structural steel repair, strengthening and recoating
- Concrete repair to slabs, columns, aprons and hardstands
- Floor preparation, levelling and industrial coatings
- Roof, cladding and gutter remediation
- Fire and services upgrades coordinated with trades
- Strip out of redundant plant and fit out for the new operation
Staging around an operating facility
The plan starts with what cannot stop. Which bays keep running, which docks stay live, where forklifts travel and when. Then the work is broken into zones with hoarding, dust control and traffic separation, and handed back progressively rather than all at the end.
Night and weekend work is normal, and so is being flexible when the operation has a big week and needs a zone back early.
Aircraft hangars and large span buildings
Hangars bring their own constraints: enormous clear spans, doors that must keep working, aviation site rules, and coating specifications that are far tighter than a standard warehouse. Access planning and containment are the whole game on these buildings.
One contractor across the scope
Because we cover structure, concrete, coatings and fit out within the group, most of the refurbishment scope sits under one contract. That matters when the concrete repair, the steel repair and the coating all have to happen in the right order in the same zone in the same week.
Frequently asked
Can you work while we keep operating?
Yes, and that is how most of these jobs run. The staging plan is built around your operation before the price is fixed.
Do you handle the floor coatings as well as the structure?
Yes, floors and coatings sit within our scope, which avoids the gap where nobody owns the surface preparation.
What about asbestos in an older building?
Common in industrial stock. It is handled under licence within the group so the program does not stop.
Do you work interstate?
Yes. Industrial refurbishment travels well because the work is planned in stages rather than daily attendance.
Building due for a refresh?
Tell us what the building does and what has failed. We will tell you what genuinely needs renewing and what can wait.
