Carpark Asphalt Reinstatement & Ditch Filling
Scope of Works
Perfect Remediation was engaged to undertake asphalt resurfacing and carpark improvement works at the Blue Cattle Dog Hotel in St Clair. The works were carried out in five planned stages to allow the facility to remain operational throughout the project duration.
The scope included:
- Demolition and milling of existing asphalt surfaces
- Sweeping, cleaning, and tack coating of the milled surface prior to laying new asphalt
- Asphalt reinstatement using AC10 wearing course in both 50mm and 100mm thicknesses across designated areas
- Filling of an existing open ditch with asphalt in the covered carpark zone to create a seamless, level surface
- Realignment of existing bollards impacted by vehicle traffic
- Line marking reinstatement to match the original layout of parking bays and traffic control areas
- Staged works delivery, including staging of access/egress routes and temporary compound setup.
Challenges
- The project required live site staging and coordination with hotel management to ensure carpark access was maintained for patrons throughout the works
- Weather-sensitive scheduling was critical due to the nature of asphalt laying and curing times
- The ditch infill area had variable substrate conditions, requiring careful compaction to ensure long-term durability
- Bollards had been previously misaligned due to traffic wear and required non-standard resetting and straightening.

- Implemented a 5-stage program, as detailed in the approved staging plan, to ensure site access and safety were preserved at all times
- Coordinated closely with hotel operations to ensure key access routes and accommodation parking remained functional during works
- Used road saws, compactors, and quality asphalt laydown techniques to ensure each reinstated zone met traffic durability expectations
- Completed full clean-up, line marking, and bollard realignment to restore functionality and presentation of the carpark
- Delivered the works on time and within budget.
