Remediation Works to Campbelltown Post Office
Scope of Works
Perfect Remediation was engaged to carry out a comprehensive façade and roof remediation project at Australia Post Campbelltown. The scope included:
- Erection of scaffolding along the footpath, including securing council approvals for public access management.
- Removal of existing asbestos roof membrane and installation of a new PVC roof membrane.
- Demolition of the deteriorated render façade on the fire stair tower.
- Reinstatement of new render followed by painting to restore the façade’s structural integrity and visual appeal.
The project required seamless coordination between multiple trades, strict compliance with asbestos safety regulations, and meticulous site management.
Challenges
Executing works on the façade and roof of an active post office came with several challenges:
- The site was surrounded by bus stops and accessible parking, requiring careful planning to avoid disruption to public amenities.
- A large-scale development next to the site limited available space and increased logistical complexity.
- Scaffolding had to be erected safely over a busy footpath, demanding continuous pedestrian access and safety oversight.
- Dust and debris control within the scaffolded area was essential to maintain cleanliness and minimize public exposure.
